Welcome to "Bei Otto" in Bangkok
Dear Guests,
In Germany we have a saying which, roughly translated, means:

"Cooking with love is a matter of good food!"

Born on the 12th of December 1947 in Triberg, grown up in Koenigsfeld both in the Black forest Region in Southwest Germany. At the age of 13, I began a three-year apprenticeship as a cook, going on to receive my certificate from a hotel and restaurant training institute. Then I spent several years studying the various regional German cuisines. In 1975, the Heidelberg Chamber of Commerce, in accordance with German law, awarded me the title of Master Chef. I came to Thailand when the owners of Bangkok's Boon Rawd Brewery hired me as chef for the Singha Bierhaus, their newly opened showcase.
In July 1984, I established "Bei Otto", my own restaurant, together with a bakery and, later, a butchery and delicatessen, on Sukhumvit Road between Sois 12 and 14. Since 1990 we have instead been located at Sukhumvit Soi 20, opposite the Windsor Suites Hotel. Together with my Thai team, I strive to make you feel as though you were at home in Germany, providing my guests with the best of German and other European cuisine. Enjoy the cosy atmosphere at lunch or dinner. Our friendly and efficient Thai staff are always at your service.

Yours faithfully,
Otto Duffner
